Our Prediction:

Scotland will win

Scotland – Samoa Match Prediction | 30-09-2019 06:15

The USA have improved under Gold and if Tonga get their first-choice team on the pitch, then they will definitely leave their mark on the opposition and the tournament as a whole. Tonga always seem to be a troublesome country to play come World Cups while the USA have the astute brain of Gary Gold in charge, and talent enough to cause the three Tier One countries some problems. But the other two teams will not be light touches.

There is a specific issue with the Facebook in-app browser intermittently making requests to websites without cookies that had previously been set. This appears to be a defect in the browser which should be addressed soon. The simplest approach to avoid this problem is to continue to use the Facebook app but not use the in-app browser.

Both teams will know that a win takes them through, although that will mean they qualify third in the group, setting up a probably quarter final clash against Australia. Samoa came close to picking up a victory against Tonga last weekend, but so far for Scotland it has been very hard work and they have struggled to make their mark on the tournament. The two winless teams in Group B battle it out for a place in the quarter finals this weekend, when Samoa take on Scotland. Let's check our rugby bet of the day.

Whoever manages that will be favourites to top the pool. England and France had topsy-turvy 2018s with England regressing and now need a new defence coach, while France showed some signs of improvement under Jacques Brunel, having fired Guy Noves last Christmas. All three teams need stability over the next 12 months, and a run of victories. And then there is Argentina, who changed coaches in the summer with Daniel Hourcade leaving and the timeless former hooker Mario Ledesma taking the reins.

Scotland are ranked seven places above Samoa in the world rankings and expect their skill and experience combined with good support from the stands to enable them to outscore Samoa and pick up two points in the opening game. Scotland beat Samoa by 11 points back in 2015 and they will be confident of securing an opening victory in the World Cup.

If the Pumas peak like they usually do for World Cups then expect them to be a tough ask for Jones' England. On their day, Tonga could knock over Argentina or France, while the USA will fancy their chances of an upset and will also have a bee in their bonnet after the 2015 competition where they came away without having really landed a punch. Argentina against England on October 5 could be a real upset.

Ireland beat Wales in final Rugby World Cup warm up, become world No. 1

Ireland have won 15 of the past 20 matches between the sides, and two of the past three, but Scotland have game-changing players such as Stuart Hogg, Finn Russell and Hamish Watson who can star on the biggest stage. 6 on the World Rugby rankings; would it be a shock if they defeated No. 2 Ireland? Perhaps not, but this in reality is the only game in which the underdog might be fancied to overturn the favourite. Scotland are No.

Samoa boasts a great team compared to Scotland and picking one of the handicap lines is one of the safest ways to win this one. They have priced Samoa up at evens with a -34 point deficit and unless Scotland change their approach, Samoa should comfortably beat that and cruise to victory in this one. The handicap line on this game is where to focus and the best handicap is with Coral, who have a line of 34 for the game.

This is a pool which will develop as the competition progresses, and is by far the most fascinating in the World Cup. The final round match between England and France could decide the pool winner, or it could be a game where the loser goes bust and is eliminated. If England re-find their best under Eddie Jones, then the decisive match will be the first one, France-Argentina, which would determine who joins England in the knockout stages.
