Mgladbach – Eintracht Frankfurt Match Prediction | 27-10-2019 13:00

As theyre now unbeaten since returning from the winter break, nobody can say that Frankfurt are easy to get the better of, though Sundays hosts have not been finding it easy to get their heads in front, as theyve drawn each of their last four matches. After drawing in the Europa League on Thursday evening, despite facing ten men for most of the contest, Adi Htters men will be looking to regain the winning thread.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Borussia Mgladbach / Bundesliga This big derby in the 22nd round of Bundesliga is played in Frankfurt, regardless of the fact that the difference between these rivals is nine points. However, the host of this duel play also in Europa League, which is very good, and they are currently in a series of five games without defeat. In the last round, Borussia was defeated for the first time this season on their field. Borussia is a team that is so much better and they are in a great third place, while Eintracht is fifth. In the first part of the season, Borussia has celebrated with 3-1 in their mutual duel.

Gacinovic was expectedly on the field instead of Haller, while we now expect three strikers on the field again. On Thursday, they played their first duel of in the sixteen finals of European Cup and this was an unpleasant hosting in Ukraine against Shakhtar. It ended with 2-2, which is a good result, however, they had one player less almost the entire game and they had a lead twice. It was a great opportunity to solve all dilemmas in the first duel, while they have to be very careful in the rematch.

Match Predictions, H2H, Betting Tips & Preview

Gladbach have been creating and converting a lot of shots on goal, but their approach has left goalkeeper Yann Sommer exposed. Our prediction: a 2-1 Gladbach win. Well, it makes goals at both ends look a good option here. And what does that all mean? He has saved the second most shots of any keeper in the Bundesliga, but even that hasnt been enough to stop them conceding in fact, Gladbach have kept just one clean sheet this season and both teams have scored in five of Gladbachs last seven at home(71%). Frankfurts Sebastien Haller (pictured) has scored in all but one Bundesliga game so far this season, so youd fancy him for a goal, but given Gladbachs strong home form and Frankfurts awful away form (see statistics) you have to fancy the hosts to take three points.

On the face of it, Frankfurt are a tough side to beat, but their recent performances have been anything but encouraging. Much of the same can be said for when they held Dortmund to a draw, as well as when they drew against Werder Bremen. The fact that their opponents emerged with an expected goal difference of +1.25 tell us that Frankfurt were very lucky to earn a share of the spoils. Last time out, they were fortunate to earn a draw from Leipzig, as they offered little going forward, recording just 0.22 expected goals for, and provided less than stern resistance.

Another positive performance against one of the most in-form sides in the league, with summer signed Alassane Plea scoring his second of the season, means that Dieter Hecking is unlikely to make many changes. Borussia Monchengladbach suffered their first defeat of the 18/19 campaign away to the in-form Hertha Berlin over the weekend. Despite this, youd have to think that coach Dieter Hecking is content enough with his teams start to the new Bundesliga season. Seven points from three outings against Leverkusen (2-0 win), Augsburg (1-1 draw) and Schalke (2-1 win) is no doubt something Gladbach would have taken when the fixtures were announced in fact, those results mark their best start to a Bundesliga season since 2011/12 and although they did lose 4-2 on Saturday, they did leave the German capital with their heads held high.

And they are a much better defensive team. The early Sunday kick-off time is reserved for Eintracht Frankfurt and Mnchengladbach. They are third in the table and eight points off the top of the table. Eintracht have drawn four out of their last six games. After a 1:0 victory in Leverkusen, they won 2:0 at Schalke in the round before last. The home side has only lost twice in Frankfurt over the last ten matches. The visitors will be confident as well after two back to back away wins. Mnchengladbach will be tough to defeat though. The Commerzbank Arena crowd will want another good result at home after a draw with Borussia Dortmund at the start of February. Still, Eintracht are strong at home and it will take effort to beat them there. They are sharing fifth place in the table with Bayer Leverkusen and a win would get them closer to 4th placed Leipzig. They might be good for a point here.

Expected Line-up: 4-4-2

As for the visitors, well, Gladbach have been a bit hit and miss on their travels this season, but they were victorious in their most recent away match. Sundays visitors will go to Commerzbank-Arena having averaged just 0.97 expected goals for away from home this season, while theyve surrendered an average of 1.68. However, theyve generally struggled to put their best foot forward in an attacking sense when playing on the road. Such figures do not bode well.

Eintracht Frankfurt should be in good spirits ahead of Wednesday. He has been one of their most dangerous attacking assets over the past year and should help improve Frankfurts attacking numbers no team has had fewer shots on goal than the Eagles (28). Sundays1-1 draw at home to RB Leipzig came just a few days after an impressive Europa League win against Marseille, if not only for the fact that they did so after being down to 10-men. Coach Adi Hutter has some big decisions to make here though, both in terms of offense and defense. On the negative side, center backs Timothy Chandler and Carlos Salcedo as well as left-back Jetro Willems are all missing from Eintrachts back line (see team news), but on the positive side, Croatian World Cup star Ante Rebic is an option after making his first appearance of the season off the bench over the weekend.
