Our Prediction:

Kilrossanty will win

Kilrossanty – Brickey Rangers Match Prediction | 06-09-2019 15:00

They were slow to start and slow to move the ball but settled eventually in the second half and reeled off the scores to reel in and overtake a De La Salle side that had led at the break by six points at the break. A well-worked goal decorated by overlaps and quick handpasses teed up the Ardmore second half revival.

5 TALKING POINTS FROM THIS AFTERNOONS SFCACTION

Another mini-scuffle erupted in Kilrossantys defence that took some time to defuse and ended with a flurry of yellow cards. Then Kilrossanty appeared to have the game wrapped up in stoppage but Whyte blazed a 21 yard free from the ground high and off the post. Mulhearne then denied a rampaging O Lonain before Ferdia O hAodha fired over on 57 minutes.

The team of the championship to date, given their early capitulation from the SFC last season, is undoubtedly Clashmore/Kinsalebeg who have been playing an exciting brand of attacking football, backboned by hard work, tenacity and no-nonsense defending. The team is extremely well-balanced and having seen off Nire and Rathgormack they are on course to build up a serious momentum before they face off against Ballinacourty in Round Five of the championship.

The first arrived on four minutes and came as the result of quick, direct play. Alan Quinn was named in the corner but was operating out around the middle. Mark Prendergast took a free to James Whyte who offloaded to Niall Walsh. The midfielder then delivered a first time ball in on top of Kilrossantys two-man inside line.

These opportunities could have giving them a serious foothold on the game. Instead a stray handpass allowed Nire counter-attack them with numerical advantage and fire over the first score of the second half on 35 minutes a score that led to them hitting four unanswered points for a 0-7 to 0-4 lead. At the start of the second half they hit one wide and had two efforts drop short into the goalkeepers hands.
