England will win

England – Australia Match Prediction | 14-09-2019 06:00

Khawaja has looked good without getting a big score and will need to be more responsible in the absence of Steve Smith. Batsmen: Usman Khawaja, Jason Roy, and Rory Burns are the only batsmen we have selected in our Dream11 team. Burns has been the best opening batsmen from either side so far. Picking Jason Roy is a risk but he could be batting in the middle order in this match, a position he is much more suited for.

Ben Stokes was the only successful batsmen from their side who scored 115 runs. The way how England performed in the second test, was not much impressive. Like the first inning, the batting order of England also failed to put a big total on the board in the second inning. Jonny Bairstow could manage to score 52 runs in the first inning. Their batting order could manage to score 258 runs in their first inning. Rory Burns was the most successful bowler from their side who scored 53 runs. They lost the toss and were asked to bat first. They scored 258 runs in the second inning.

Virat Kohli needs to give players consistent opportunities: Sourav Ganguly

Still to play Australia, New Zealand and India and needed to win atleast the one match and wishing that other results swing their way, the home side no longer look the invincible everyone was billing them to be. The side go into every match with a one track gameplan, looking to bat first and put the runs on the board with no strategy in place while chasing.

Alongside Root, Rory Burns will be key for England he has been in good form at the top of the order. Joe Root is another set to play on his home ground and the England captain is due a big innings. With Steve Smith out for Australia, their key man could be David Warner, though Usman Khawaja is in slightly better form.

As captain then, Pat Cummins took 13 wickets in the first two matches and could be a safe pick for more points. Vice-captain may be slightly safer. With Steve Smith injured, there could be a new game changer in this match. Joe Root is a risky pick given he has not hit top form yet, but the England captain could be key on his home ground.

Weather forecast

They scored 154 runs in the second inning when the time of the match was ended. The batting order of Australia team failed to perform well in the second test match. They could manage to score 250 runs in the reply of 258 runs. Usman Khawaja could manage to score 36 runs in the first inning. Marnus Labuschagne scored 59 runs in the second inning. Steven Smith was the only successful bowler from their side who scored 92 runs.

They followed that with three straight wins: seeing off West Indies thanks to some hostile fast bowling from Jofra Archer and Mark Wood; beating Bangladesh courtesy of Jason Roys 153; and thrashing Afghanistan after Eoin Morgan smashed 17 sixes to score 148.Last time out, however, chasing just 233 to beat Sri Lanka at Headingley, England could only muster a disappointing 212 all out in 47 overs despite Ben Stokes being left stranded on 82 not out.

He has not scored runs in the last few matches but loves playing against Australia and is not the kind of player to miss out for a long time. Wicketkeeper: We have three excellent wicketkeeper options. For this match, we have selected Jos Buttler. Jonny Bairstow is an opening batsman, Jos Buttler is the X factor of the England side, while Alex Carey is very good down the order.

England vs Australia Today Match Prediction

James Vince, therefore, will continue to open the batting alongside Jonny Bairstow. Liam Plunkett could also return, serving up swing as opposed to Mark Woods seam. England will continue to be without their first-choice opener in Jason Roy as he has failed to regain full fitness from the hamstring injury that has kept him out of the last two games. Moeen Ali came in for criticism for his batting last time out and Liam Dawson is an option to bring in, but Ali generally appears to have the backing of the selectors.

They had Australia six down in the final session when the match ended in a draw. The English will have taken plenty of heart from the second test, which suffered as a result of the rain. With ICC World Test Championship points up for grabs, as well as the Ashes of course, this is a key match for the hosts.

They won all five games against Australia at home last summer, including smashing their own world record when they posted 483/6 at Trent Bridge. Australia beat England in one of the warm-up matches for this tournament, but in official ODIs England have been dominant in this fixture recently. It followed a 4-1 series win in Australia in their previous series against their old enemy too.
