Chelsea (@1.33) vs Sheff Utd (@10.0)

Our Prediction:

Chelsea will win

Chelsea – Sheff Utd Match Prediction | 23-08-2019

We could see him getting his first taste of action here in this encounter. Eddie Howe will be missing winger David Brooks for a while due to injury, but the club have acted by bringing in Harry Wilson from Liverpool on loan to make up for it. Unfortunately, they have more injuries, with Simon Francis, Andrew Surman, and Dan Gosling all out as well.

There were some shocks in the Championship last weekend with relegated sides all losing, but a promoted team away from home on the opening day would do very well to grab a point. The Cherries are far from consistent, but they have a good enough team to start the season off well with three points. Expert Verdict: Despite how well Sheffield United have fared in the past against Bournemouth, you have to shudder for them here.

Former Bournemouth man Lys Mousset will be keen on punishing his former club as well, as he seeks a way to get a bit of revenge after he was let go by them. The fact that Billy Sharp led the Blades by scoring 23 times in the Championship last term might not mean much in the Premier League, but it does mean the captain should at least get a chance to lead the line here and show what he can do against top division sides like the Cherries.

Come this Saturday, history will be created at Bramall Lane because it will be the first time the two teams will face each other. The last time they were in the Premier League, Rafa Benitez was Liverpools manager, and teams like Bolton Wanderers, Reading and Portsmouth competed for the then UEFA Cup first round spot. Back at that time, Leicester City were struggling for survival in the EFL Championship (then known as Coca-Cola Championship). The Blades are making a comeback in the English top flight after 12 years.

10/30 Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace

Ryan Fraser remains at the club, unbelievably really, and will look to replicate a superb season last term in which he racked up a healthy helping of 14 assists, good enough to be second only to Eden Hazard in the entire league. If he can stay healthy, he can challenge the top scorers for the Golden Boot, such has been his effectiveness in front of goal. Callum Wilson is a man already on fire for the Cherries, scoring once and assisting once as they got an emphatic win over Lyon in their final friendly.

A Sheffield United win is trading at 3.55, as compared to the 2.27 of a Leicester City win. Though Sheffield United have done well in the previous two games, they will face a stern test on Saturday. A draw, trading at 3.25, seems likelier than a Sheffield United victory. Brendan Rodgers has got a great squad at his disposal - one that is filled with many talented superstars. With the big money signings of Ayoze Perez, Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet, they are looking very intimidating, both on paper and the pitch.

The treasury is not massive for them, but they have done their best to reinforce their squad and have done it with some shrewd free transfers that might just pay off and a couple of bigger outlays. Sheffield United will come into the Premier League for the first time in over ten years having secured second place in last seasons Championship. How they will fare is anyones guess at this moment. They did so comfortably in the end, too, beating out Leeds by six points to do so.

This is a very nice side that plays great football and can beat anyone on their day, but they just lack the bite and consistency to always challenge the top six. Last terms 14th place demonstrated that, seeing as how they started so well only to fade back to normalcy. Bournemouth will start this season just as they typically do: hopeful but not overly expectant. Still yet, they were never in relegation danger really, and they will be ready to go having kept all of their major players.
